Mental Health Support Workers

We look for people with an understanding or experience of living with mental health challenges and/or addiction. The role focuses on meeting the objectives of The Carroll Street Trust to assist in the provision of a recovery model approach in a residential setting. We work to enable residents to progress towards their highest degree of fulfillment and independence in the community.

Do you have:

  • Experience and/or some level of education, or are currently studying in the Mental Health field.
  • Good observation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • An empathy and understanding of mental health issues and the ability to support residents through mental health fluctuations. 
  • Good level of physical health enabling staff to carry out the above duties.
  • The ability to work autonomously, while maintaining a safe living environment ensuring delivery of high-quality care in accordance with the companies philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute as a key worker in a team setting and liaise effectively with resident’s external support network.
  • Knowledge and commitment to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi and its implications when offering a bi-cultural service. 
  • A commitment to empowering individuals to function optimally in their environment.
  • A belief that learning is a lifelong process.
